Welcome to our Farm!

Summer is here!

What’s New on the Farm?

Now in the midst of summer, the farm is busy! Fritz and our summer helper, Ellie, are out in the potato field daily working away gathering up the Colorado beetles that love to wreak havoc on our potato plants. It’s not an easy chore, but we do this because we don’t spray any pesticides, herbicides, or any other chemicals on our potatoes. Our new potatoes should be available for sale in August. Stay tuned for that!

The calves are growing bigger by the day and enjoy being out on the pasture. Our ducks and chickens enjoy the fresh air too wandering around the farm yard -maybe you’ve seen them when you’ve come to visit the store. Our elderberry trees are in full bloom. Noticeably our largest tree is right by the farm store entrance, where we use a trampoline to catch the ripe fruit that falls from the tree.

Along with all that is going on at the farm, we still have lots of beef, chicken and pork for you. Since it’s grilling season, we have more steaks in stock ready to be enjoyed! Come and visit our farm store and see all that we have to offer. See you soon!

Located just outside of Kitchener, Ontario in Waterloo Region, we enjoy the fertile lands on the foothills of the Baden Hill which have provided food and have been home to many people for a long time. Our farm was first settled in 1848 by the Jutzi family, one of the early Mennonite families in the area. They came here for the good soil to grow food for their family and community, just like we do today!

In 2023 we celebrated 25 years of farming and 175 years of homesteading at this location. Down the road at 1812 Bleams Road, we also celebrated 20 years there, which is now in the hands of the next generation, our son Freddy.
