September 2023

Hello!

Fall seems to come in a hurry and when I walk outside I see big swarms of birds gathering and getting ready for their trip south. Every day when I go into the pasture to move the fence for the herd of bulls, so they can enjoy a fresh batch of grass, I have some house wren and even Bobolink cheering me on with their delightful songs hopping from fence post to fence post. Years ago I put nesting boxes up around the pasture and they thank me every summer with their songs and by controlling bugs. If anyone is looking for a winter project, build some nesting boxes and put them up in early spring; songbirds are also in a housing dilemma, but the rent they offer is delightful.

We managed to get in all the grain and hay, in between the rains. Our potato harvest went well this year. We managed to get it completed within a week due to a smaller field, but our yield of potatoes was still very good. We offer 10 and 50 lbs bags of these potatoes at our store. Our beef freezers are well stocked with our prime meat coming from the pastures. Come stock up and take advantage of our excellent prices for grass-fed, grass-finished beef.

Chicken – As for meat chicken, there will be only one more opportunity to order fresh – the week after Thanksgiving. Please place your order early to avoid disappointment. The price remains the same at $4.90 per lb.

Pork – If you are interested in fresh pork and have not received the pork order form, you can contact Frieder Laepple by email at porkorderform@gmail.com or by phone at 519-505-3263.

We also have some fresh, seasonal vegetables in store. Come and see what we have as it changes weekly.
Lastly, our website and online store will be changing shortly – if you have any problems finding the information you need, or ordering – just send an email to laepple@golden.net or give us a call at 519-634-1033 or Linda’s cell at 519-588-8922.

Please also consider following us on Facebook – a newly launched page that will contain more regular information about the farm and store.

Thank you so much for your continued support of our farm. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
